Frozen jeans

Not recommended. And that was only a couple of hours.

What kind of insulating socks were you wearing in your trail shoes, and did you try Seal Skinz or Rocky Gore-tex socks to keep the moisture out?

Hi Johann

Have another look at your photo. I don't think your problem was the joggers. It was the way the snow stuck to your socks and trousers and melted into them. Yeah, that's not so good.

Many of us do wear joggers in the snow, with great success. We prefer the ones with waterproof/breathable membranes of course, but equally important is the use of full-length gaiters with a WP/B membrane as well. Use the right gear and it all works.

I should have said something about that picture :-)

The Adidas were not the problem. Getting wet from the snow and the freezing snow, combined with the cotton jeans was the problem.

You'll be fine. Size up. Thicker wool socks. Extra insole. Gaiter. Spare pair of socks in your rucksack.
