Okay, I know this is an invitation for teasing, but…

Is the drawstring too short, or is my derrière too big?

Seems there is plenty of stretch available, and once I get them on, they fit fine, but that drawstring is several inches too short.

Tim,
You are not the only one. The draw string was about 3" to short for me on the large size. The fit is great, but I will have to replace the draw string with a longer one. And it is not my rear-end being too large as my wife says that I do not have one!!

I've actually sent mine back for replacement because of the size. When I first tried to put them on, the string vanished straight into the waistband; I fished it back out and knotted the ends together. At that point I was unable to even approach getting them on all the way.
I broke out the sewing tape and measured the waist; stretched enough to get the accordion folds out, I measured 28" for a size Large. I returned them with a note hoping it was a labeling mistake. No matter how stretchy they are, I can't see getting another 6" out of the waist.

My fear is the drawstring will chafe with a hip strap. I'll replace it with something much thinner or nothing at all.

Hey y'all-

I just received my 40% sale goodies (WOOHOO!) and immediately tried everything on. I had the same experience of the drawstring disappearing as soon as I put the Beartooth Shorts on, but with plenty of room in the accordion folds to spare. My question is this: why is a drawstring needed at all? maybe I have strange physiology, but it seems to me they'd just stay in place without the drawstring. Dare I remove it for good?

I hope all is well out there,

Jed

Same experience here. The waistband drawstring on these shorts is close to useless. Still debating to send back for an exchange to a larger size or just getting rid of the drawstring. What waist sizes are people using the medium shorts with? What is the BPL recommendation? I could not easily locate a sizing guide when purchasing these. Thanks.

As a member of the BPL customer service team I am disheartened that the drawstring on a number of the Beartooth Short is (no pun intended) too short. Sine the error of the item was part of the manufacturing process there is little we at the retail end of BPL can do about it. My suggestion would be to procure cordage of the proper length, tie it to one end of the existing cord, pull it through, remove the former piece and wear the shorts that way. If this solution is not acceptable then returning the goods is your only option as we will be unable to remedy the situation in any other way. I hope everyone finds one of these solutions acceptable.
