I have been looking to get an 'ultralight' sleeping bag since the only bag I own is a 3.5 pound North Face 30 degree sythetic bag. I've got an extremely tight budget and I desperatly do not want to carry that monster next summer espiecially while tring to get my base weight under 10lbs.. I was looking at a local army surplus store and found a GI Issue Military Surplus Warm Weather Bag that weighs 1lb. 14oz. for only 20$.(It is made out of canvas).
Would this in conjunction with a 3/4 sized sleeping pad,summer clothes(Nylon Pants,hiking T-shirt,and Polyester jacket) and a bed of pine needles and leaves under me keep me comfotable in summer temps and mild wind conditions?
