Wow, the pack is much smaller than I thought when put on someone's back.

Yes, the G4 is a huge pack. It's actually too big, but I will have to carry a bear canister sometimes, and my bear canister (Garcia) only fits vertically, so I guess it'll work. I do need to find a way to reduce the volume of the G4 for the rest of the time.
