It's OK, David, this is the typical look of the inside of my Tarptents …
( so I don't really mind the extra space)

They were new at the time, I think that I still have them…..
This was the first time I had the Rainbow in the bush, I am not usually this clean and tidy.

Tony,

Are you using those pegs as normal pegs, or burying them as deadmen, with the line half way along the peg? The deadman technique is much more effective, especially after you tromp the snow down on top.

Tony,
be careful with the stuffsack deadmen, according to mr. Caffin, the tendency for wet australian snow at close to freezing temps is to set up solidly around the deadman, and it is difficult to extract a soft anchor the next morning.

Plates you can chop out and knock the icy snow off of, but bags may be in there 'til spring.

Yeah – I broke the tip off a ski stock one year trying to extract one Al stake from the ice. !@#$%^&*
I use my Ti anchors in the snow these days. They can be extracted.

Very subtle Roger. I have just learned how to do the granny knot (saves me buying push on shoes only) , sewing for me is a darn of a hobby.

Hi Rod,

Yes I am using the pegs as normal pegs and thanks for the advice about the deadman technique.

I am still going to sell the Betamid and floor as I have decided it is not suitable for what I do, I am deciding between the Gunyah, Microlite or the Scarp 1, I have decided to wait for some reviews to come out on the Gunyah and the Scarp 1 first.
