So I'm choosing a new pad system and wanted some advice. I'm contemplating purchasing the BMW Torso pad to use in conjunction with a foam pad for extra warmth. My question is, what R-value will I need to provide me with warmth, as I tend to be a cold sleeper.
I'm considering the DIAD pad (because it's so light) as well as the Gossamer Gear pads and was wondering if the lightest of these would work. Currently, I sleep with a bivy and a 20-degree down bag and used a heavy/bulky Wal-Mart closed -cell foam pad with a Big Agnes AirCore pad for comfort. I've been very warm so far with this set-up and want to recreate it with something lighter.
