Hello all,
I've been reading this forum for over a year. It's been a great resource. I've been slowly getting my pack weight down but I'm not UL yet.

Anyway, I have a lot of questions. I have a Vargo triad alcohol stove which works great with my Snow Peak 900 pot.

I don't really need 900ml since I just do bag meals. I have a SP600 mug I would like to use on the Triad. Does anyone know what the trick is to keep the SP600 on the stove. I cant get it to stay on the stove. It always seems to slip off.

I also like the Idea of the super cat stove but have not had any luck getting the stove to boil 2 cups of water on one fill.

Shelter question, I am finally ditching the tent. I want to do a tarp and bivy set up. I would like to keep it on the low cost side. I think I am going to get one of those Equinox silnylon tarps but I don't know what size to get the 8×10 or the 6×8. I figured the 8×10 may be easier for a tarp noobie.

Any suggestions on bivy would be welcome. I like the tigoat Ptarmigan with the net hood… any opinions?

I am a weekend warrior and usually do 2-3 day trips 3 season only. I hike in the Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana area and bugs are a big issue. I definitely need full enclosure for sleeping as ticks, and chiggers will not be stopped by any around the chest, non-stiched in, type bug net.

Thanks for any advise.
