Is it just me, or does it seem like synthetic insulation should have 3 times the loft of down, and compress 4 times smaller by now? Seems like I've been seeing press releases like that since hollofil came out. Looks good though, and I know some day down will be obsolete. Just thought it would have happened by now.
Most all marketing brochures and company "press releases" need to be discounted by at least 50% to conform closer with actual performance. Methinks synthetics still have a long way to go to match the weight/warmth/compressibility/durability of down. Marketing-speak notwithstanding, it's not going to happen with current technology/materials.
Based on the prices of those bags, I can't imagine that it performs better than anything else on the market. Seems they just wanted to make an insulation that lofted more, not necessarily was warmer for the weight
