Quick question… I've got a couple of items I might put up on the gear swap. Would BPL members from the USA have to pay import duties if I sent the items by regular post? I'm sending from Australia, so any import duties would probably kill the deal.

Customs tax on "onesies and twosies" by airmail — I seriously doubt it. I've gotten gear from Japan, and they made it through tax free.

I get Vegemite duty free so I guess gear would slip through also.
A Free Trade Agreement now exists between Australia and USA.
This means NO Customs Duties – either way.
Second hand stuff did not normally incur Customs Duties anyhow, but that is now history.

You'll probably also find that there are plenty of Aussies on the forums who'd be interested in picking up some of the stuff you're thinking of off loading too. I know I bought some gear off Brett in Adelaide.

When I was in Oz I had vegemite on toast and thought it wasn't too bad. It doesn't taste like ice cream, but it wasn't unbearable.
