INSIDE BPL: November 10, 2008!
Just a quick note to give you all some headsup about what’s happening with BPL this month — lots of neat things.
1. Website Upgrades
The Wiki launches tomorrow! A long time coming, this can grow into a great resource for our community, with your help.
And…(drum roll)…we are finally going to CREMATE our existing search engine tomorrow night (I hear celebration…) and replace it with something that … actually … works (ahem): the new BPL Site Search engine. I will followup with a sincere apology that our site search has been worse than pack weight for most of you :( BUT thanks for your patience, because it’s finally getting fixed!
Also tomorrow, a cleaned up home page and navbar that responds to your navigation feedback and puts more of what you wanted there, where you wanted it.
Tomorrow, we’ll unveil our new logo as well :)
Today, we also lauched the new author proposal submission form | Direct Link to Form Here.
Remember, everyone is free to contribute here at BPL — we don’t limit submissions just to the “pros”!
2. New Products
Titanium pots (550, 1100, and 1300) will be in the store in about two weeks. Ti Esbit stoves and more pots by mid-December.
The new Merino LW (the “Beartooth” collection) — the hoody and short — have now arrived and are being inspected.
They are scheduled to launch on November 19, but it looks like we’ll be early. Maybe an early bird notification for forum users? :)
PDF Catalog — we’re launching our first NO-PRINT catalog: PDF, full color, featuring our new fall products (Nov 19).
Gift Cards — for the holiday season, gift cards (cash) and online subscription gift cards (Nov 26).
