Feathered Friends 20 degree bag

I have a FF Winter Wren (overstuffed) in Epic. Although I've had it a year, it hasn't gotten a lot of ground use since the temperature range is between my usual 3 season bag(s) and my winter. My normal use for it is hammocking in winter and I particularly like the features in that respect. Construction is good, but it weighs more than other comparable temperature bags, but part of that is due to the Wren's design. I got the epic for spray resistence, toughness, and also so that I could use it for walking around camp in without too much fear of snagging.

I don't have that bag, but I believe you are correct in stating that the bag is similar to a WM bag. The down is very high quality, so the only differences would be the choice of outer material. I got a 20 degree bag that I use with my wife and me (with a bottom sheet) and it is plenty warm. We chose the Nano fabric and have been happy with it (although we haven't experienced much in the way of damp days).

The one thing I would be careful about, with any material, is how crinkly it is. I'm not sure if it is Epic, but I think one of the materials is rather noisy.

I have a swift with Epic ( 2 years )and its held up pretty well. The Epic fabric is not noisy must be the new nylon or eVent they use. The Epic has been nice with tent condensation etc.

Its the only bag I have. I got the bigger cut so if I was so inclined, I could wear a layer of down or good synthetic insualtion and not compromise the loft of the bag, but sigificantly boost the temp rating of the bag. Thats the theory at least, I hope to get a couple snow camp trips in it this winter.
