So now that the easy season has come and is on its way out I find, like the bears, I prefer to hunker down and wait out the cold months in my own cave of sorts (a tent). What shelter do you go to at this time of year. Please, if it isn't too much trouble include your opinions both positive and negative with said piece, your typical conditions encountered, and what you would improve/consider as a replacement. Myself, I use a gatewood cape with a tyvek footprint right now. Being as I haven't had it for more than a year I can't make any claims as to my happiness with it in wetter times. However, were I to use it regularly in the rain I am very sure I would appreciate the bathtub floor of the serenity net tent that pairs with it. I live in the bay area and don't expect to encounter snow in my regular outings. For the most part I spend my weekends out with my lady or a good friend. During the summer shelter has been easy but now that it is starting to get wet I feel it is time to get something that will work for two.
