I have been using a short Thermarest Riderest pad for over a year now and I have been really satisfied with how warm and comfortable it is for only weighing less then half a pound but on my last backpacking trip my feet froze. I figure it is time to buy a regular length pad but I don't want to buy a regular Ridgerest, the short is big enough rolled up.
I found the SL lite, its a tad thinner and only weighs 9 oz. which is a little lighter than the regular Ridgerest. I know the R value of the Ridgerest(2.6) so I asked the customer service at POE and the guy told me the R value was 5 to 7? That seems a little high to me?
Anybody used the Ridgerest and the SL lite? Which is warmer?
