I have an aluminimum rod that makes me think of the possibility of making a 'monopod' as in the picture.
Thread and baseplate on top and a bit of a point on the bottom. Could double as a tent peg. I'm thinking it would be about 6 inches tall.
So minimal and light but not sure if it would be limiting having to stick it in the dirt for it to stand up.
