I'm looking at getting the montbell super stretch down hugger #1 for winter. I'm a very restless sleeper so the stretch feature really appeals to me. I want to know what to use to keep the inside clean besides a liner. I don't want to use a liner because it always get twisted and i wake up in the middle of the night because I'm uncomfortable. Are there any other alternative to using a liner?

You could try wearing long thermals or a clean l/s tee. It would still separate your skin from the bag. I usually keep an icebreaker for night and a pair of thermals for my legs when it’s cold. I change at night before the sun goes down so not to get cold. I think there is nothing worse than pulling up late in the cold and having your shirt wet from sweat then having to sit around in it then go to bed.

Jay, you're gonna like that MontBell stuff! I have a SS DH #5 and it's a great piece of gear. What I use to keep it clean is silk longjohns, Terramar I think. The tops weigh 2.9oz, the bottoms 3.3oz. For a little more weight (maybe an oz each) but much more thermal efficiency, check out the BPL UL merino.
