I spent 3 months in The One last year. I have a love/hate relationship with it.

I can almost never get a perfect, taught set-up. 3 months ought to be enough "practice." It was always the same places that gave me trouble. One corner never could tighten right and the beak never was tight.

I suspect that the knots on the lines need to be adjusted. Problem is, the knots are a little more complicated than I'm willing to deal with.

The beak seemed a lot tighter when I began. Now I cannot get it tight at all unless there is a little hill in front of me to stake the front line. I'm thinking of wedging a stick under the front line to possibly make it tight.

It's horribly noisy in wind. It sometimes falls down in the wind, too, because if it's not perfectly tight (which for me it never is) it will snap and pop and violently pull at the lines until something gives, usually the back pole.

Other than that, being only 5'3" tall, I loved the spaciousness. I could sleep with my backpack inside the tent at my feet. I could sit up and even have another person in the tent with me as we relaxed at the end of the day (too small for both to sleep.) I liked the light color of the fabric. It was not gloomy inside. I was safe from bugs and private from people. It kept me surprisingly warm.

I never got to test it in anything more than light rain. I only experienced condensation two times, and it was minor. This was all in California.
