I'm currently hiking the PCT. I'm not used to camping in the northwest. I'm in Portland today and leave back tomorrow afternoon. I accidentally lit my pack on fire. No really. I thought the alcohol stove was out, it wasn't. So anyway, I'm here to replace some gear and want to know some advice on the following:
I want some rain pants, as much for the dew as anything. I'm thinking some frogg toggs, any other good light options?
What about general layering systems? I was using a railriders eco sunshirt (so money), pati windshirt (also money), with a pati r1 hoody fleece and a marmot preclip for my upper layer. lower i have mountain hardware zip offs and now-melted long underwear. Any ideas? I'm getting heavier gear and I need help (moving up in my bag, moved up in my tent, etc). thanks ahead of time.
