Who is using these? I am ready to purchase a new bag. I need a long that is around 32 ounces. It also needs to be a pretty wide bag for me to fit my shoulders in it. What are you using?

Dave,
The Helium EQ only differs from the regular Helium in that the shell is waterproof/highly water resistant.
I have used the bag snow camping in temps from 30 to 5 degrees F….layering tons of clothing and using a bivy bag on the low end temps.
The bag breathes well too and had plenty of room for me to move around. (I am 142 lbs and 5'6")
One difference between the EQ and the Regular Helium is that the EQ has a full length zipper and the Regular is 3/4 length.
My EQ came in at 2 lbs 3 oz….the Regular 1 lb 13 oz…weights as of 2007.
I think that the 2008 models are slightly heavier.
I wrote a detailed review of the bag, which can be found with a number of other reviews of this bag in the Reader Reviews section.
Just this year, Backpacker Magazine gave the whole Marmot line of these down bags their Gold Award…having scored well a number of year in a row.
One nice thing is that the interior fabric is silky smooth and feels nice next to skin.
Anyway, hope that helps…great bag, but too warm for summer.
I recently purchased the Marmot Atom 40 degree bag for summer.
Hope that this helps.

I have the regular bag and I love it. The half zipper is kind of a pain, but you get used to it…
The 2008 Marmot Helium and Hydrogen now have full length zippers, an improvement IMHO.
I've got about 600 nights on my 2006 Helium. Good bag. I just recently sent it in to have the zipper replaced because it was locking up and wouldn't go down. They did a perfect job with the repair. What do you want to know?
I am 6'2" and use a regular (no, it is not long enough but it works the way I use it…) that weighs 1lb 13oz. The bag is wider through the leg and in the footbox than the WM Versalite I had, but was very slightly cooler (and weighed a few ounces less). For an ultralight bag, it has a larger cut than others that allows layering.
Using a down parka and down slippers with adequate pads, I have used this during winter trips in the Adirondacks- and I sleep cold.
Like others have said, what specifically do you want to know about the bag?
