Unfortunately I tried swapping out my POE Maxthermo 3/4 for a Gossamer Gear Nightlight Torsopad + 1/8 pad and it just didn't work for me.
The ~12 ounce saving would have been great, if my back didn't feel like it was going to break in half ;-)
At least I have the new Thermarest in my future which should drop 8 ounces from my pack weight.
Give it some time, it's pretty hard to switch from a lifetime of thick mattresses so something much thinner and be comfortable on the first night.
