So I like the weight/price/simplicity balance of the Brawny tarps, but I need something more to go on for sizing. I fear they may be two small for all 6'4" of me to fit without touching the ends, but I have no way of knowing.

Could we at least get a length for the bottom of the backwall? Or perhaps some dimensions at a given height?

Here's all I derived from the product description:

"Dimensions: varies with height of pitch"

"Depending on the height of the pole and the width of the front opening desired more or less use-able floor space can be managed."

"Tarp shape, floor space, headroom and side wall steepness are dependent on choices made during set up. If the user stakes the front two corners close together and places the trekking pole at maximum height the result will be more headroom, steeper side walls but less floor space. The peak can be set lower and the doors wider for less headroom, with more floor space."

Did I stump you guys at BPL, or are you not willing to answer this question?

If nothing else, how about you have someone of a known height take a picture lying underneath?

Ah Jason, it's just that we don't love you …
(Joke!)

It may be that no-one has a Brawny Tarp? Been out of biz for a while.

Ahem … Don't confuse me with facts!
Oh dear – well, I don't run the store!
My mistake. How embarrassing!

Jason,

My apologies, I'm usually pretty good about spotting issues that arise in this forum. Not sure how I missed yours.

Below is a graphic of the dimensions on the Brawny Tarp. I'm 6'-3" and I fit inside there but my sleeping bag rubs against the walls if I lay parallel to the back wall. The beauty of the Brawny Tarp is the flaps over the doors that close – completely blocking rain from getting in. This allows me to lay at an angle inside.

Both of those are upgraded or have some different features from the original Tacoma Solo and Tacoma Light tarps Carol used to sell. It seems BPL could give approximate dimensions (in store) when staked to the ground…Carol did.

Thanks Sam. That's exactly what I was looking for. Looks like it's would be a bit of a squeeze, but it would fit. Seems to be a common issue for tall guys with most every type of shelter! :)
