Has anyone tried using a survival wrap (not a space blanket) to insulate a Big Agnes Air Core equivalent pad against the cold?
I'm specifically looking at this product, which weighs on my kitchen scale 1.7 ounces:

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference between this and space blankets which are about the same weight and size?
I don't think it'll add much in the way of warmth, because heat losses via conduction will go straight through. they are designed to reflect radiated heat. It will keep your pad dry underneath on damp ground though, which will help.
I don't know what the difference is… marketing probably. i ordered a gg thinlight since this is such an unknown.
