I'm currently thru-hiking the PCT. I'm using the Montrail Hardrocks and now have a problem. The treads on the bottom, of which there are 5 individual middle treads on each shoe, are falling off. They began falling off with only 200 miles on the shoe. I had 4 treads peeling away on the last hundred mile section. I heard Montrail was bought by Columbia. Perhaps they have changed the way they are fastened or the glue or the manufacturing, but it's a problem anyhow.
