I recently took a trip up from Humboldt to Seattle to play a show with some of my old college buddies — had a great time, I hadn’t seen them in ages. I was just curious if anyone else is a fan of the Spin Doctors, I bought their new after reading about its release on UMVD online…it’s been a while since I’d listened to them, but they were a bit hit back in my college days, so it was nice to hear their jammy tunes with good hooks.
The CD is Nice Talking to Me, kept me a lot of company on I5, there’s some great road tunes on there.
Spin Docter’s is just fine but I really like Pat Methany American Garage/Heartland for those long streches before the mountains poke up.
Pat Metheny

Another vote for Metheny, particularly “The Road to You” and “As Falls Wichita…”. Y’all have good taste.

I have very fond memories of “Still Life (Talking)” by the Pat Metheny Group. I swear there was a time in the early 90’s when I listened to that album at least a few times a week every week for a year or more. Just about wore out my walkman on those daily subway trips :) Times change… but the music is as great as it ever was.
