Hello all, I have a couple of questions regarding an upcoming Alaska trip. Firstly, I would like to update a webpage during the trip if possible. Secondly, I would like to be able to solar recharge my equipment. I have a new 3G Iphone and an Iridium 9505A sat. phone to work with. Any advice or thoughts on how I might accomplish this with the least further expenditure?

Don't know anything about your satphone, but I thought apple were quite restrictive about 3rd party software. WordPress do a nice iphone interface to their blogging site, but that means being connected while you type your blog, which will use more battery power than composing offline and uploading.
I use a motorola V6maxx 3G phone as a modem for my Acer n311 PDA. Plenty of ftp programs and a usable blogger interface program are available.
For power, I use a 10" x 8" polycrystalline solar panel (31/2oz) with two 5v outputs for simultaneously recharging phone and PDA or GPS. I'm also experimenting with a couple of peltiers thermally glued to a heatsink on top of a bushbuddy style stove I knocked together. I'm also playing with a 2oz windcharger made with a computer fan and childs windmill toy, but weatherproffing is proving difficult.
As a bonus, the acer pda has a VGA screen which does a nice job of displaying maps.
