inov 8 x-talon 212!

If my math is correct this is over 1/2 pound lighter than a pair of Terroc 330's. (212g=7.48oz, 330=11.64oz, per shoe)

While shocked that a shoe this light garners no comments, I can't help but wonder if the short lifespan of Inov 8 racing shoes deters people from using them. A picture of this shoe comes up with a google search.

I was at a meeting with Inov8 this week and had these shoes in my hands.
They really are just a sole unit with just enough of an upper to keep the sole on your foot. I think if they suit your foot shape they'll be very intuitive, giving a totally natural walking and foot placement. The sole compound is ultra soft, it is a race shoe for sure and a long distance trail will destroy them.
Can't wait to try them properly.

Perhaps it's a waste of an incredible shoe, but since I only get out for a couple big trips in autumn, I haven't minded splurging on sacrificial inov8 race shoes (280's) because they are sublime to wear, but it has certainly spoiled me. The more durable 290's feel so stiff…

BTW, Perused your very cool website a bit and hope you'll post a 212 review ASAP.

I'm the same Linsey, I'll happily sacrifice longevity in a shoe for performance. I wear adventure racing/fell racing shoes almost all the time for backpacking and in the winter I switch to Icebugs.

Got my test pair along with a set of their mini gaiters. Scary light, grippy sole with some underfoot cushioning, soft upper and the fit looks good.
After some miles on them I'll know more!

man, I am digging this shoe!

Just the kind of terrain I hike in. my solomon XA 3d pro suck on wet rocks. These sound perfect!

If it werent for the price I would have ordered them already. I will wait to here more reports on its durability.
