Hi all,

as mentioned before I'll continue to cover new articles to be released in 2009 as shown at the recent OutDoor fair in Friedrichshafen/Germany. This is the equivalent to the Outdoor Retailer Market in the US but bigger… ;-)
Recent postings cover cooking with new products from Snowpeak, Primus and others plus backpacks with new ones from Osprey, Terra-Nova and Inov-8 amongst others.
Upcoming postings will cover clothing, tents, sleeping bags etc.

If that is of interest to you please check my blog at:

Roman…I am glad to see the folks from Fozzils out and about – I have been carrying their items for well over a year now. They are quite sturdy and the snaps work much better than folding tabs.

Does anyone know if the Esbit 720 ml Titanium Pot is available in the United States?

I've heard that the Ti Wing stove is a little tough to balance a pot on. I was thinking that getting the pot that is designed for the wing stove might be a good option, but I haven't found a retailer in the US that carrys the Esbit pot.

Any skinny "pot" like the ESBIT, etc. is going to be less efficient than a wider pot. Yes, the wider pot will be heavier by a tad but use anodized aluminum, not pricey, heavier titanium. The ti pots have to be thin to be light "enough" to compete with alunimum. THEREFORE they don't transmit heat as well and have hot spots on teh bottom. (Did you know Ti is 2X heavier than aluminum by volume?)

I use a 1.5 L. JetBoil W/O the steel handles. I use a small aluminum pot gripper. The "Flux Ring" heat exchanger on the bottom makes up for its weight a lot by saving fuel. And the neoprene cozy on the sides adds to efficiency as well. On a long trip it means less fuel to carry. On a short trip (2-3 days) I use another 1.5 L. pot.
