Insulating pants

Check out forum posts over the last few days for a Thermawrap vs Micropuff thread. I'm not sure what Compressor is or how it relates to either, but what I took from it was that Micropuff was reported by a user to be thicker and warmer than Thermawrap. I just got a set of Micropuff jacket and pants, but will have to wait until winter to test them out.
Also, look for pants with "side zip" or zipper down the length of each leg. This can aid in ventilation to keep from overheating in bibs or just lounging.

It's mountain hardware's compressor pants. I believe they use Thermic Micro insulation. I don't know it's clo value.
I don't see any conclusive information about which pants to choose.
Micropuff is warmer and it has full zip along the leg so it's easier to put on boots or cool off.
Don't know much else.
