I'm curious as to how different brands of fuel work with different brands of stoves. Say for instance, a Snow Peak stove on an MSR canister. Is there a thread standard among companies? I stick to same company for both just to be safe, but what are everyone's observations, research, etc…?
Even within like-threaded cannisters in the US, different companies vary the gas mix of butane and propane. This can alter performance positively or negatively.
For example, snowpeak cannisters (70/30 butane/propane) are too hot for a jetboil in warm weather, but great in colder weather. Whereas jetfuel cannisters (80/20 butane/propane) are great in warm weather, but falter when it gets colder.
