Amazing new "stove" system called Heatstick from the Outdoor 2008 expo. This is for boil in the bag aficionados, sounds like it could be useful for climbers that don't need to melt snow. No pot, no flame,no windshield, no Co2 emissions, IE well suited for "cooking" inside a tent or even a hooped bivy.

Dang. I just realized I've got a box of MRE heaters (just add water) I never thought to try with freezerbag cooking.

Hmmm… maybe a mountaineering application? Light that baby up, throw it in between your legs inside your sleeping bag, and pretty soon you have to unzip to vent!
Pretty heavy at just under a pound for the complete system, but certainly has a convenience factor going for it.
Exactly. For 10g of gas you can boil a liter of water, have your dinner and a cup of soup/hot chocolate, then top it up , ignite it again , shove it in your bag and you have a hot water bottle ready to heat up again in the morning . The first obvious problem will be the availability of the dedicated canisters if you have to fly to your destination….
Anyway it will be interesting to see how climbers/winter hikers will perceive the various advantages and disadvantages..
