Hi,
Has anyone used anything like this ? I would like you comments , suggestions or advice.
Some treks in India require you to have some means of satellite communication so you can call for help.

We do have a full review of the SPOT system here at BPL. It was rather negative, to say the least.

The fretful Mrs. Ritterview went to REI and got a SPOT for my backpacking trip in the Sierra from which I just returned. The SPOT is really crude, but it did send messages allowing her to track my progress. So, better than nothing if you want someone keeping tabs on your whereabouts.
