I'll be in Seattle next week and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for any gear shops I should check out.

Hi Frank,
Pro Mountain Sports on University Ave is a must. Lots of well chosen UL gear and Jim Nelson, the proprietor is a fountain of knowledge if you can get him to talk. He's a certified mountain guide. Also, Feathered Friends-not just a down gear shop. REI is just catty corner from Feathered Friends for run-of-the mill gear. 2nd Ascent out in Ballard has lots of used gear and seconds. Occasionally you can find a good piece of gear there cheapo.
Have fun and hopefully get out in the mountains! Lots of great day hikes within an hour of Seattle, and if you want to get over on the east side, the snow is pretty much gone up to ~5000'. Re-post or PM me if you want some recommendations on "get your heart rate up" day hikes close in, or slightly longer hikes on the east side.
check out the REI flagship store at 222 Yale Ave. N
the Feathered Friends store is practically across the street at 119 Yale Ave. N
you might give Marmot Mountain Works in Bellevue a go.
I second Feathered Friends and REI. Feathered Friends makes fabulous custom down bags, vests, and jackets. While REI is not the mecca of UL, that store is the schiznizel for camping/outdoor stores. I've been to a bunch across the country, and that store is a must see.
It's been several years since I have spent a lot of time in Seattle. In addition to the excellent suggestions I would add the Outdoor Research store which sells retail and close out. Sometimes has awesome sales. I believe the address is 203 1st Ave. S, Seattle, WA 98134
