Platypus Clean Stream filtration system

It has been about to hit "the market in a couple of weeks" for a couple of months. I've pretty much given up on them for this summer. Maybe next year.

For me, I wouldn't spend $70 on this bulkier and heavier system, particularly if I've already got spare bladders, tubing, and a lighter and more compact Frontier Pro filter.

Yes, the Clean Stream can filter out bacteria whereas the Frontier Pro can't. But I still save both money and weight each and every time I hike by bringing a tiny drop bottle of unscented household bleach — just 2 drops per liter — and using it in conjunction with the Frontier Pro.

Not everyone requires viral and water taste treatment of course… for doing less, I can see opting for some cheaper or lighter or quicker/easier alternative — but in this case, the Clean Stream does less but is more expensive, bulkier and heavier.
