MYOG in this case should stand for 'modify your own gear.
In reserching options for a summer crampon I came up with the idea of just removing the binding from my MSR EVO snowshoes and making use of something I already owned. These weigh 12 oz. each as shown but could be lightened with additional modifications. Yes there are lighter options but these worked great, offered very secure attachment and are fairly durable.
