Daypack for her

The REI Stokes is a pretty thin pack – not a lot of padding and no suspension. I looked at it when I got my Deuter this past winter. For a "local trails" kind of pack where all you have is water, snacks, jacket and first aid kit it works fine. But if she is hauling full day gear or technical gear, no.
It would come down to the weight she is hauling.

Sounds like you can get to REI, so I'm going to suggest the Gregory Z-30. It's 1800 c.i., 2.75#, $119. I have been using one all winter on snowshoeing trips and love it. It carries like a dream, has a 2 liter bladder pocket, very well thought out pockets(including a kangaroo pouch that accepts snowshoes stacked vertically, or a tent, wet jacket, etc). Worth a look. If it is included in your list, above, ignore this post except as satisfied user feedback.

I've been borrowing this pack from my dad for dayhiking myself and love it. (I'd buy it, but I've already splurged on other gear). But I'm looking for a women's specific pack for my wife. Are you recommending the Z-30 for women?

I can't directly recommend it for women, given I ain't one.
That said, on REI's website their advertising picture shows it on a woman, and at least 2 of the user reviews are by women. So, if you like the pack yourself and REI is convenient to you, it might be worthwhile to take your wife down there to try it on. She can load it up with their weight bags and walk around a bit. If it feels good, you could then purchase it with REI's generous return policy firmly in mind. Just a thought. Good luck whatever choice you make.
