Hmmmmm….wow hope they did not go out of business or something. Has anyone called Brian?
I left a message on his voicemail / answering machine suggesting he renew his DNS entry since email won't get to him.
Mark,
I emailed him earlier to the @yahoo address in his admin contact for ns record.
Leaving a voice mail was probably a good backup… assuming 100 others didn't think of it before we did!
I posted in another thread earlier today that the whois reply shows the domain expiring yesterday. Hopefully it's just a clerical oversight that can be resolved tomorrow or Tuesday.
Maybe Brian is just checking to see how much love and devotion to ULA is really out there.
Isn't Brian hiking at the moment ?
Franco
Man, I hope he doesn't lose his domain name! That would be terrible!
The site looks fine to me at the moment. Maybe they fixed it?
Yup. Domain Name has expired. How long is he hiking for? I don't see anyone else taking that domain… but it sucks for your business to be offline. Was probably just an oversight.
I wonder when your domain expires if you had a successful business if someone tries to make a big profit in letting you have the domain back. Anyone know?
There's quite an industry of grabbing expired domain names and either holding them for ransom or taking advantage of the publicity the domain name achieved under its proper owner. There is a procedure for getting it back under certain circumstances; see http://www.icann.org and find the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy. Easier than litigation by far but still a nuisance.
I'll try to contact Brian about this.
I show it was renewed Jun 21 so Brian probably has it set to auto-renew. The site contintues to work fine for me so my guess is there are some ISP DNS issues.

I did some more digging and it looks like the hosting account has expired, not the domain.
I just tried teh ULA site and got the message "This domain has expired".
I guess nothing will hapen until Brian gets back or learns about it some other way. Oh well……….
Yeah, that confirms his hosting has expired, not the domain name itself.
Here's what I just received from Brian: "Thanks for the heads up. The site will be back up today. My apologies for the inconvenience…"
It's up and running again
Franco
I just tried to go to the site and it isn't up. Any idea what's up?
Here in windy Denmark the ULA site is up and working, Robert maybe your browser is accessing your cache, try refreshing your browser.
Hope this helps
