Hey Everyone:
I am looking to put together a better system for fall in New England. I hike as late into the season as possible. If my gear (and skills) can keep me alive, I want to go!
So far, I haven't had long fall seasons. This is because I have no suitable insulation peices. My current system while active is:
Silkweight longsleeve
Rab Vapour Rise Smock
Pretty complex huh? This keeps me warm to a bit under 40 while walking. So I was planning on getting a thermawrap vest and thermawrap parka for rests and sleeping. Now with the sale I'm thinking UL60 vest. I've been using a bulky, heavy fleece when it gets real cold and this just doesn't cut it anymore.
So, is the UL60 a suitable replacement for the thermawrap vest for this application? Anything I should consider about my planned system? Any opinions etc.. are always welcomed!
Thanks everyone!
Andrew
