Do you use a seperate ridge line and then attach the tarp to it or do you use lines off the webbing ties or grommets and then tension the tarp. I just got an Equinox 8×10 and I tie it using lines off the grommets for the ridge. It appeared to place a lot of strain on the grommets when the sides were staked out and it worried me that I might (over time) tear a grommet out. Also it seems to give more coverage when the 10 foot length is used as the ridge – but the 8 foot length has three attachment places in the body of the tarp that would be great for extra lift – am I doing this right?
