I am looking at getting the RAB ultra bivy. made of pertex endurance, and 7 oz.

What are the downsides of this bivy adn pertex endurance in general?

I was also looking at their ultralite bivy made of Event… anyone have any experience with either of these?

Hi Matthew. I have a Rab Quantum Endurance 250 sleeping bag and the fabric is very water-resistant. Only once did the bag get wet, and that was because the foot end was lying in a pool of water. The water probably came through the stitching. That wouldn't happen with the Ultra bivvy as there are no seams.
I had thought of getting an Ultra bivvy but the size put me off. It is a mummy shaped bivvy and quite close fitting. If you were thinking of using it with a winter bag, i would e-mail Rab to make sure it was big enough.
