I am contemplating making my own dry bags using Seattle Fabrics' heat sealable nylon. The way I interpret this procedure is to put two pieces together on your ironing board and iron. Presto! A durable, watertight seal, no sewing, no taping, no glueing.
The only doubt I have is that it sounds too good to be true. Has anyone used this or similar product?
Seattle Fabrics' description is below …
Heat Sealable Taffeta
70 Denier 4.3 oz/sq yd. Heat sealable like the pack cloth and oxford, but this is super light weight. Useful for applications where weight is a factor, but a high degree of water resistance is necessary.
Width: 60"
Colors:Â Black$11.95/yd
