I am trying to find a new tent for a 4 week solo backpacking trip to Iceland and Greenland for September/October. I am very tall at 1.93 and have a long upper body, so need headroom of 115cm to kneel without touching the outer tent. I would like a porch for cooking and good ventilation if possible. Most of the lightweight tents seem to offer light weight but not much headroom, 95 or 100cm being common. I used a Hilleberg Keb for 20 years until it wore out, which was a brilliant tent with two porches and lots of headroom. So I have narrowed my search to a Hilleberg Nallo 4 and an Exped Venus2. I have as yet only seen the Exped. This is 3 pole and is very quick to put up. It has 115cm headroom in the porch, but it is quite heavy for its size. The Nallo 4 GT is much bigger on paper and weighs the virtually the same. The Nallo 4 weighs less but I have not seen it and don't know if the porch is big enough for cooking? Does anyone have experience of these two tents or could offer advice on a suitable 4 season tent for a tall person that has an all up weight of 3.3kg?
