Thanks.

Not sold in USA.
It's the backpacking version of a japanese hotel room (!)
Hey John, lots of things are not sold in the USA.:)
Lots of things are not sold in Scotland either;)
Where there's a will……..
John — it’s the 21st century! What with the internet and all — the whole world is our shopping arcade!
But back to topic, I don’t speak or read Japanese, but this shelter seems interesting. Looking at MontBell’s Japanese website — the shelter is called a “Multiple Tube Shelter”. It’s made of 30 denier, PU-coated nylon. As the name implies, it’s more of an emergency shelter for use when weather changes unexpectedly. Its 195 cm (77 in) length is probably too short for use with a sleeping bag inside.
The one thing I CANNOT figure out is how this shelter maintains its tube shape. Poles? But there’s no description of them. The link to a PDF “instructions” is pretty worthless.
You may already know this, but two forum members — Brett and Miguel Arboleda — will buy and ship Japanese products at cost plus postage plus a few dollars for the train ride to the store.
Anyway, hopefully some Japanese speakers will chime in and do a better translation. :)
These are the 'inner poles' sold individually for the tube shelter that you need. There goes another +600g for the shelter in poles alone.

If you are going to set it up as the triangular tube and don't have sticks then get the red 2 pole set.
Dang, I even looked on the jp website and didn't find anything til Ben posted again. Anyway, here is what I found.

You can buy a Bothy shelter from your beloved southern neighbors, if you are just after a big plastic bag.

Thanks everyone. I saw it on the Japanese website and thought it was more than what it is. Not something i need.
Cheers.
