I know, there have been threads here ad. nauseum about water treatment.
But with the advent first of Aqua Mira liquid chemical treatment and then Katadyn Micropur Chlorine dioxide tablets and now SteriPen UV treatment the scene has changed dramatically.
It seems for areas with clear water (not counting cattle water tanks)that with either/or SteriPens and Katadyn tablets we now have much lighter and more reliable alternatives for water treatment.
So my question:
How many UL backpackers still using water filters – even "light" ones – are considering switching to UV and/or chlorine dioxide tab treatmentfor the advantages of less weight and better reliability?
Eric
P.S And if you've decided to stay with your filters what are your reasons (other than cost/budget)?
