I just bought a set of adjustable goat poles from TiGoat and was told by DJ that his brother Josh is backing out of the company. Josh was responsible for producing the poles and DJ seems uncertain as to whether AGPs will be offered after the current inventory is sold out. I hope DJ can hold the company together while he adjusts to the loss.

I was in communication with DJ last week and he never mentioned any change. TiGoat still have the ultimate customer service response. I have the first ever set of commercially sold AGP, among other items in their product line, and have been overwhelmed with all that TiGoat, and DJ in particular, have done in support. Most recently I received some updated washers and a spare set of expanders so that I can feel confident about two upcoming, long, back to back, thru hikes. The hiking community can only hope that these poles will continue to be produced.

I was kind of wonder what was going on. They put their fly rod attachment on the web site and then dropped it a few weeks later. Does anyone else have any info or can someone contact DJ and find out what his thought are. I guess I had better get my order in soon. Hmmmm fill up my car for one week or by poles???? Hmmmmmm. Where is Stan Myer's water car when you need it???

Ross,
I got the last one. I was told in an email that they sold about 10 of them and took it off the web page. "…time and resources have put it on the back burner for now."
I've not had time to test mine yet (it just came Friday), but I'm guessing it won't come close to any of the 3 custom rods I have now. I didn't have much time for the trout this spring, but I'll be looking for a collapsible rod before next spring. My two piece rods are cumbersome to strap in/on my pack, so they don't go far from the truck. I would like to change that!

Chris:

Thanks for the input. When you get a chance to use it would you mind reporting back on the fly rod. I also looked at your gear list. I like it, would be interested in your insight on some of your gear.

My gear list spreadsheet is incomplete (as you've already seen), but feel free to ask any questions. Click on my name and hit the PM or email link (I forget which). I tried to send you one to keep this off the board, but you are not configured to accept PM's.

Hopefully this won't affect the company if it is what's happening. I was planning on buying a ptarmigan next month… That would be a bummer. I seem to be seeing a lot of this kind of stuff lately……R2 packs is out and I just found out about the dual flight tarp about a week ago only to find that end2end trail supply is out as well……looked like a super cool design.

I emailed them a couple of weeks back and was told they were waiting on the parts shipments to come in.
