Hi David,
For cool, wet, windy climates like Scotland the Akto is by far the better choice. It's been my first choice for the Highlands for over 12 years now. The condensation in the Xanadu 1 is the main problem but I also don't like the big rear vent. I think the Xanadu 1 would be best suited to places with low humidity, though then I'd probably prefer a tarp.
