forum reorganization?

Kidding aside, if you haven't already, you should PM or email Addie Morstad — who can then forward to the appropriate BPL movers and shakers.

Previously, I had posted a suggestion for a BPL with kids.

Yeah, some simple changes could be implemented quickly, but I think there is an overall bigger plan to completely revamp the BPL forums (soon???).

However, logically GEAR forums should go at the top as these are far and away the most frequently visited forums.

I think your reorganization is superb except for one minor change. IMHO Reader Reviews should stay as a separate entity away from forums. They don't seem to suited to the forum format (they are reviews not discussions). However, MUCH MORE needs to be done (better searching, etc.) to the forums before this BPL community can reach its potential.

One thing I really dislike about the forum index listing is just how long it is!

While folks have suggested combining certain branches, I'd like to suggest using just one description line for each branch. Do we really need SIX LINES to describe the "G Spot" branch? Reducing cute but wordy explanations will shorten the index and make scrolling much less of an effort. And branches that are listed way down will likely be visited much more often.
