I think I may have asked this question before but if I did I can not remember the answer. In winter time are you going to see a whole lot of difference in warm between a regular pair of hiking boots, some mountaineering ones or something like a pair of Sorel Caribou. I have no desire to go mountaineering but just want to keep my feet warm and not hot. Or should there be a two tier system with hiking boots from about freezing to 0 and big thick boots like the Sorels below that?

Thanks you for the links but unfortunately I am not a member due to my current unemployed status but I will be when things turn around. The last article I can read. I already own a pair of Stephenson's vapor barrier socks so it looks like I could use those with a wool hiking sock inside my Merrell hiking boots to keep my feet warm to possibly about -10F. Thanks for the links though.
