I'm planning on taking a weeklong trip on the NCT from my home in grand traverse to the makinac straits. I moved here from out west, and I'm used to hanging my food using the PCT method for bears. Since I'm told we don't have bears here, I was planning on just taking an OP sak with my food inside… The only concern I have is small critters nibbling through the bag if I just sleep with it next to my tarp. BPL claims that:
– "we've not had a single curious critter attempt to get into the O.P. Sak."
– " (we) sometimes, just sleep with it next to our shelter."
Sounds like it would be okay, just wondering how other low country folks deal with this.
