My girlfriend decided we could no longer buy nutella since it has modified palm oil in it. She figured out this recipe and it tastes very similar and costs about the same or a bit less.

raw hazelnuts
honey
baking chocolate

1. Roast nuts at 350 for 10-12 min
2. rub off skins (or you could use de-skinned nuts and skip this)
3. smash/blenderize nuts into paste
4. mix 2:1 hazelnut paste:honey
5. melt chocolate in double boiler
6. add chocolate to taste

Mmmmmmm, calorie dense!

Here's a good use for nutella:

Take a small peanut butter container and spoon out the center so you have an empty well in the middle.

Take some Nutella and place it in the microwave just enough to soften the nutella so it can be poured.

Pour the melted nutella into the peanut butter well. Let the whole thing cool off.

You now have a kind of massive reeses peanut butter cup than can be used as a spread.

The real Nutella has over 50% sugar and only 13% hazelnuts. I think that I'll have yours…
