what bag/quilt would i need to comfortably sleep at 20 degrees F assuming I have an insulated coat and pants on?

Depends how insulated they are.
Starting at adding 5* for base layer.
Almost 10 for MLD 2.5 stuff.
10 for light down, (montbell down).
15 or more for anything more, (FF down).
If you're looking to get anything warmer than a 35* bag for 20*, you better have some fur on that underwear.
