Never really thought about having to bear bag my food but should I? I'll be on two different trails and staying in two different state cabins. I'm not sure I want that knock on the door from Mr. Bear in the middle of the night. Thanks for the advice. Eric

Staying in state cabins along a trail in AK, do I need to bear bag?

I wouldn't. Most of the Cabins the State or Feds maintain are pretty secure. Not to mention that any bears that come near or show no fear of humans are pretty much taken out of the gene pool. Your food will be more secure, and less chance at attracting a bear when in the cabin with you.
What trail(s) are you doing? Most cabins are hard to come by unless you are on the ball to reserve them as soon as they come available.
Enjoy your trip!

We're doing the resurrection pass trail and staying at trout lake cabin. Then another night on the lost lake trail at the dale clemens cabin. Trying to get a taste of both with a short amount of time to do it in. Thanks again, Eric
